More on our speakers…..
Mark Irwin
Mark Irwin started his career in the horticulture industry over thirty years ago with his involvement in a new start-up company growing orchids. The fledgling plant producer soon grew into a successful Asian export business which ultimately emerged as the Cedar Hill Corporate Group (CHCG), a global export business specialising in the production and export of Australian native foliage. The company also provides a wide range of native and exotic plants for the nursery, landscaping and home garden industries. Mark continues in his capacity as owner and CEO of CHCG.
In addition to managing horticulture investments, Mark was a Partner in an accounting business in Brisbane for almost 40 years, specialising in tax and small business. He remains a certified CPA.
Mark’s business skill, and love of Australian plants, has led to his appointment to the board of several horticulture industry committees, among them Australian Flower Export Council (AFEC); Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC); Wildflower and Native Plant committee (now AgriFutures Australia); University of Queensland Centre for Native Floriculture; and Wild Flower Association. He is currently the Treasurer for WildFlowers Australia.
